Descripción
Sumario:This article presents a research project developed in Spain between 2023 and 2027, which focuses on the implications of urban realities within the Castilian expansion into the Americas. The project is based on the projection achieved by the cities of Castile from the 14th century onwards at different levels. It traces both the transatlantic presence of Iberian urban models from the late 15th century onwards, as well as the earlier foundations of the phenomenon. One of its objectives is to study the human mobility that underpinned this expansion, a mobility that is outlined in the project with different meanings and nuances.
