Resumo:The purpose of this research is to highlight the difficulties of militar enlistment experienced at a time as tumultuous as the war of Spanish Succession in the interior of Castile as a result of lack of men, indebtedness of the councils and the duration of the conflict , for this we have focused on the case of the city of Cuenca and its judicial district. On the other hand, we have tried to assess the lack of foresight to fulfill the horseback riding in the final years of the conflict and also the role played by a Noble from Cuenca, the II Marquis of Valdeguerrero to carry it out successfully despite the lack of control which seemed to distinguish it.
