| Sumario: | In this work we analyze the treatment of syntax in a corpus of works destined to the teaching of grammar in Colombian schools during the 19th Century. We focus on four issues: 1) the possible distinction between natural and figurative syntax; 2) the concept of <em>regime</em>; 3) the treatment of the cases, and 4) the criteria and terminology used to define sentence units. We will verify that there is an evolution in the grammatical doctrine from the works of the first decades of the century, with a Latinizing tendency and in which the influence of the Academy predominates, until the last, where the influence of Andrés Bello is notable, passing through the grammars of the middle of the century, when, together with the Venezuelan, the figure of Vicente Salvá is considered as a reference. |
