This paper reviews the situation in these islands, in particular for five which have adjusted to local conditions and are breeding: ringnecked parakeet Psittacula krameri and egyptian goose Alopochen aegyptiacus – with non expanding populations; and the monk parakeet Myiopsitta monachus, common myna Acridotheres tristis and common waxbill Estrilda astrild – all three naturalised and well established.
