More than 11 620 specimens were identified, belonging to three suborders (Gammaridea, Caprellidea and Hyperiidea), 28 families, 51 genera, and 80 species. Fourteen species are new records for Venezuelan marine waters: Amphithoe longimana Smith, 1873; Amphithoe valida Smith, 1873; Bemlos foresti (Mateus and Mateus, 1966); Colomastix camura LeCroy, 1995; Corophium lacustre Vanhöffen, 1911; Pedicorophium laminosum (Pearse, 1912); Eusiroides monoculoides (Haswell, 1879); Pontogeneia bartschi Shoemaker, 1948; Gammaropsis arawakia Thomas and Barnard, 1989; Photis melanica (McKinney, 1980); Cerapus cudjoe Lowry and Thomas, 1991; Erichtonius rubricornis (Stimpson, 1853); Elasmopus pectenicrus (Bate, 1862), and Tiron bellairsi Just, 1981.Se describe, de manera preliminar, la diversidad de anfípodos de las aguas someras de tres estados nororientales de Venezuela (Anzoátegui, Sucre y Nueva Esparta) a partir de las muestras tomadas en 81 localidades y diferentes tipos de microhábitat, cubriendo el rango batimétrico que va desde la franja intermareal hasta los 81 m de profundidad. Se identificaron en total 11 623 individuos pertenecientes a 3 subórdenes (Gammaridea, Caprellidea e Hyperiidea), 28 familias, 51 géneros y 80 especies.
