| Sumario: | [EN] Despite his importance as a foundational figure of Honduran philology, Alberto Membreño's work has still received little attention from scholars, so there are many aspects of his Hondureñismos that must be studied. Among them, it is important to mentions the ideological aspects of the text, whose analysis will allow to better understand Membreño's linguistic thought and also to assess more correctly the characteristics and contents of his dictionary. Thus, this paper aims to analyse the ideologems related to Latin American Spanish and dialectal variation in Honduras that can be discovered in this text, in order to show the complexity of the linguistic reflection of 19th century puristas authors and also to demonstrate that Hondureñismos is a key piece in the passage from the prescriptive to the descriptive perspective that happens in Central American lexicography during the last years of this century. |
