Description
Summary:An analysis of the decrease in biomass of the Manila clam Ruditapes philippinarum (Adamsampersand Reeve, 1850) showed that mortality encompasses the following factors: random mortality (15 %); and sowing mortality (21.01 ± 8.19 %), the latter encompassing initial mortality and missing clams. The refuge size (19.90 ± 2.54 mm) is considered the average size of living clams when sowing mortality stabilises.
