The larva presents morphological and ethological adaptations for their peculiar way of eating the pine's leaves and to move among them. Cytogenetical analysis of the spermatogenesis show that the chromosome number of this species is 2n = 62 (n= 31).[ES] Entre las 1.200 especies descritas de satúrnidos Graellsia isabelae (Graells, 1849) ocupa una posición taxonómica bastante aislada. Endemismo ibérico vinculado fundamentalmente a las áreas españolas de Pinus silvestris, sus orugas se han observado además sobre Pinus nigra en la Sierra de Segura, provincia de Jaén.
