Descripción
Sumario:[EN] Graellsia isabelae breeds easily in laboratory conditions, from egg to adult stages, on Pinus silvestris branches whose basal part is introduced into bottles filled with water placed in a plastic tray. Maximum temperature should not surpass 28 C'" and relative humidity must be between 60 and 70 per cent. When pupation occurs a bed of soil covered with mosses should be placed on the bottom of the fray. The larva presents morphological and ethological adaptations for their peculiar way of eating the pine's leaves and to move among them. Cytogenetical analysis of the spermatogenesis show that the chromosome number of this species is 2n = 62 (n= 31).
