| Resumo: | After the publication of the archives concerning the Pontificate of Pope Pius X, which was authorized by Pope John Paul II in 1985, a careful and detailed study of the documentation was carried out by the Vatican in order to obtain a full yet balanced picture of Pius X’s Papacy. The archives released are from the Secretariat of State, the personal archive of Pope Pius X, as well as his personal writtings and the archives from the Congregation for Bishops. The information from these sources affords us a better understanding of the life and role of Pope St Pius X. |
