In total, excluding the Red Kite, 23,913 birds of 72 species were counted; 78.79 % of the birds were counted in Mallorca, 10.76 % in Menorca, 7.46 % in Ibiza and 2.76 % in Formentera. The most abundant species were waterfowl with 8,896 birds, 3,530 ardeids, predominantly Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis, 2,993 rails (rallidae) of which 1,506 where Eurasian Coots Fulicula atra, 5,173 waders, predominantly Golden Plover Pluvialis apricaria, Kentish Plover Charadrius alexandrinus and Northern Lapwing Vanellus vanellus.[spa] A mediados de enero de 2023 se han realizados varios censos de aves invernantes, en las cuatro islas mayores (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza y Formentera). Estos censos incluyen un censo de milanos reales Milvus milvus en dormideros. En total, excluyendo los milanos reales, se han censado 23.913 aves pertenecientes a 72 especies diferentes; el 78,79 % de las aves se han censado en Mallorca, el 10,76 % en Menorca, el 7,46 % en Ibiza y el 2,76 % en Formentera.
