| Sumario: | [EN] Introduction: Methods of detecting and correcting publication bias during the metaanalysis process can be influenced by the presence of heterogeneity. Objective: Systematic review of existing information on the problem of publication bias. Material and method: Bibliographic search in on-line database and books, and a simulation in different scenarios of heterogeneity and publication bias. Result: The evaluated methods work with the abnormality under conditions of heterogeneity with the size of the large effect and in the meta-analysis that integrate a small number of studies. Conclusion: The degree of heterogeneity and the number of studies integrated in the meta-analysis influence the results of methods of detection and correction of publication bias. |
