Resumo:[EN] Nowadays, the European Higher Education Area implementation should be an observable reality, since first promotions of the new degree titles are finalizing their respective degrees. In this current context, it should be a priority to analyze whether Educational Programs are being implemented properly based on competences and bearing in mind the fundamental principles of this the new educational orientation, or, by contrast, the novelty is just limited to nominal changes with no real meaning in the daily teaching practice, maintaining a traditional education style focused on one-way transmission of knowledge (teacher→learner) based exclusively on theoretical contents. This article is aimed to verify, thanks to the contribution of the different players in the process of teaching and learning (particularly the teachers and students), if the new Educational Programs really are being developed following the basic principles of competency-based education. For this purpose, we have interviewed teachers and learners discussion groups. Their opinion has also been registered in questionnaires. The results have shown that, despite the great interest and dedication put into play by teachers, the current university education is still considerably far away from being a correct “competency-based education”. A considerable effort is still required on this regard.
