| Summary: | The article analyzes the celebration of the Jocs Florals, a literary contest in the Catalan language, which took place in San José, capital of Costa Rica, in 1955. In Spain, the Franco dictatorship had prohibited demonstrations in Catalan. In this way, cultural and literary initiatives such as the traditional Jocs Florals were relegated to exile.
