Sumario:This report represents the study and results of my 5G Automotive antenna design and integration project. The aperture of a whole new frequency band dedicated to 5G mmWave communications will represent a huge step forward also for the automotive sector. Therefore, the design and integration of the antennas in the vehicle must be as discreet as possible in terms of design and without affecting the general behavior. A 4x1 Patch antenna array is designed and simulated to operate at 26 GHz exploiting the beam steering usage. Then, a prototype is manufactured and tested on a 5G band anechoic chamber. Once a Flat Sample radome is place in front of the antenna, it has been verified that if the design is not optimized, the solution greatly worsens the antenna behaviour. Proper treatment of these data is essential to constitute a functional in-vehicle antenna deployment to work with the V2X standard. The antenna minimum requirements definition and the radome characteristics will represent, after all, a very important part of the design and integration in the vehicle.
