| Sumario: | [EN] When a work of art requiring a particular reintegration process that restores its originalsense and aesthetic comes to our hands, we must assume the responsability of carrying out that task. We must also start a search through every graphic source in order to undertake the process of pictorial reintegration. An unpusblished "modelino" wich José Vergara made as a preparation of "El Martirio de San Vicente" in The Valencia Cathedral has recently appeared in the antique market. There was also a misguised intervention to the work prepared to put it up on sale inmediately. Those two facts come with the necessity of accomplishing its restoration, under a treatement in accordance to the restoration in the academic sense of the word. In first place, we have ratified the work inclusion in Vergara's repertoire. Next, we have proceeded to the research and search of all the graphic source that have to do with the artistic production: mainly notes, sketches, or etchings by which he was inspired. These examples have allowed us to study the original aspects and the artist's real intention when it comes to make the "modelino". From this point on, we have carried out the process of simulation and retouching on samples identical to the "modelino", which have been printed with programs specialized in the image processing. In order to reintegrate the work, virtual and manual simulation have been used in an attempt at ourselves before the original work. The conclusion tha have been found open up range of possibilities regarding to how to deal with this kind of intervention |
