| Sumario: | The present investigation is made up of two studies. Study 1 has as general objectives (1) to know the prevalence of the risk of psychopathology in adolescents, (2) to analyze the levels of subjective well-being and risk of psychopathology of adolescents according to sex and (3) to identify the areas of well-being subjective that are related to the risk of general psychopathology of male and female adolescents. The general objective of Study 2 is to determine to what degree the relationship between levels of psychopathology and academic performance (in the particular field of mathematics), is mediated by the implicit theories of intelligence and academic self-efficacy. The overall objective of the research is to propose a feasible compression framework for the phenomenon that encompasses adolescent mental health and academic performance. The research was carried out in Chile and has a non-experimental, quantitative cross-sectional design. A two-stage and random sample design was considered. As a whole, Study 1 and Study 2 provide a comprehensive framework of the adolescents' experience, which allows linking their psychosocial dimension, considering both their positive aspects (subjective well-being) and negative (psychopathology), with its academic dimension (considering beliefs linked to the academic context, as well as their performance) |
