In this new scenario, citizen participation in science is a value in all phases of the scientific process. The paper presents the concept of citizen science; its presence at different moments in the history of science; the principles that should guide the projects developed under this modality and, finally, some examples of projects applied to the field of social sciences are presented.Este trabajo se presenta como notas de investigación sobre el concepto de ciencia ciudadana y su aplicación al campo de las ciencias sociales. Tanto la Ley 17/2022 de la Ciencia, la Tecnología y la Innovación como la Ley 2/2023 del Sistema Universitario, destacan la importancia de avanzar en el desarrollo de una Ciencia Abierta, al servicio de la sociedad. En este nuevo escenario la participación de la ciudadanía en la ciencia es un valor en todas las fases del proceso científico.
