| Sumario: | Among the different discussions in translation, there is a view that suggests translation may be partly retelling. Taking this as a starting point, the present master’s dissertation aims to explore the relation between a translation strategy, domestication, and retelling in order to explore whether they follow similar schemes or not. Additionally, this dissertation aims to present a translation of four previously untranslated short stories, taken from the contemporary anthology "A Wolf at the Door". In order to accomplish this, the translation of four tales is presented, which belong to the genre of fairy tale retellings. This genre was selected because it allows the researcher the possibility to study the retelling techniques employed and to compare them to the techniques necessary to domesticate a text. Therefore, along with the translation of these stories an analysis studying the retellings and their possible domestication is presented. |
