Sumario:Barcelona Airport has reached its operational limit in terms of passenger numbers, resulting in significant strain on passenger flows and infrastructure usage (from an operational perspective), especially at Terminal 1, where most airlines operate. This situation is further aggravated in the case of long-haul international flights, which face a shortage of available parking stands for wide-body aircraft. This thesis analyzes Terminal 2 as a viable operational alternative for the long-haul airline based in Barcelona, given the difficulties caused by the current saturation. The potential impacts of a terminal change are examined, identifying both the advantages and the possible performance losses involved. Based on the information gathered, the feasibility of the relocation is assessed, and future scenarios are proposed, taking into account the airport’s planned expansion projects.
