| Summary: | This paper presents an end-user evaluation of aircraft detection and identification capacity of the surveillance system deployed in Terminal 4 apron of Madrid-Barajas International Airport. The main goal of the system is to provide real-time surveillance information about aircraft and vehicles on the apron area, including stands, facilitating airport operation centre tasks concerned with delay minimizing and apron resources use optimizing. In order to describe system performance, a set of indicators are defined to quantify the output information reliability and to measure the capabilities of this system to automate routine airport operations. |
