Descripción
Sumario:The aim of the present research is to know the opinion of school counselors about the importance of several professional and emotional competences, in order to obtain information to improve the curriculum of these professionals. The present research it is within studies ex post facto retrospective. A sample of 203 counselors has been considered from the educational stages of Preschool Education, Primary and Secondary Education. The results obtained show that counselors concede the greatest importance in their professional practice to professional competences: coexistence management, team work and socio-relational competences. On the other hand, as far as emotional competences are concerned, counselors give the greatest importance to the supplementary emotional competences; subsequently, to the interpersonal emotional competences and, ultimately, to the intrapersonal emotional competences. Finally, the results show significant differences according to the educational stage of the school counselors. Furthermore, significant differences were found according to sex.
