La presente investigación tiene como fin la propuesta de un libro fotográfico que recopila las vivencias, expresiones laborales y culturales, manifestaciones gastronómicas y actividades de estos grupos étnicos para su correcta difusión. El problema de la investigación se centra en la importancia de rescatar nuestras raíces, cultivar y preservar estos grupos étnicos y su trascendencia ya que forman parte de nuestra cultura imbabureña y ecuatoriana. La metodología que se empleó para llevar a cabo este proyecto es la investigación descriptiva, etnográfica e histórico- documental, que permiten conocer el origen de los grupos étnicos, para así describir un determinado objeto o fenómeno de la realidad de las mismas, se necesitó una programación previa, encargada de definir los aspectos que se van a describir y la manera de realizar el trabajo. Las técnicas que permitieron la ejecución son principalmente la observación participante que ayudará a entender sus costumbres e interpretarlas.The Karankis, Otavalos, Kayambis, Natabuelas, Afroecuadorianos and Awás are ethnic groups that inhabit the province of Imbabura, each with their respective traditions and customs, located in the different cantons. The present research aims at the proposal of a photographic book that compiles the experiences, labor and cultural expressions, gastronomic manifestations and activities of these ethnic groups for their correct diffusion. The research problem focuses on the importance of rescuing our roots, cultivating and preserving these ethnic groups and their transcendence as they are part of our imbabureña and Ecuadorian culture. The methodology that was used to carry out this project is the descriptive, ethnographic and historical - documentary research, that allows to know the origin of the ethnic groups, in order to describe a certain object or phenomenon of the reality of the same, a previous programming, in charge of defining the aspects to be described and the way of doing the work.
