| Summary: | A descriptive, analytical and quantitative cross-sectional cohort study was conducted on 50 children 1-36 months of age with a diagnosis of broncho -obstructive syndrome who attended services : inpatient , emergency and outpatient Doepfner Julius Hospital of Zamora, during the period September 2013 to February 2014 in order to analyze the relationship between the total and the Immunoglobulin E Bronco - obstructive syndrome in these children also were asked about the risk factors associated with the syndrome ; for this survey was administered to parents or carers of patients, age , gender , origin , humidity in the home , personal and family history of atopy , type of feeding the child , number of episodes of obstructive bronchial syndrome at year ; and were analyzed for serum levels of total immunoglobulin E to patients by the method of electrochemiluminescence . Of the 50 children with obstructive syndrome Bronco - 40% were younger than 12 months , recurrence was 22% , male gender was most affected was 62 % ; 66 % live in urban areas , 62 % received less than 4 months breastfeeding, and total serum IgE levels were found between 1001 and 2500UI/ml in 12% of the applicants . We conclude our research that IgE levels are markedly higher in patients with recurrent broncho -obstructive syndrome; there other factors such as male gender , less than four months breastfeeding , residence in urban area have demonstrated a direct relationship with the presentation of the syndrome.
