Descrição
Resumo:The objective of the research was to explore the teaching-learning in the hybrid distance-virtual modality before the COVID-19 from the experience of graduate students and teachers at ESPAM MFL. To fulfill this objective, the teaching-learning developed in the distance-virtual modality was characterized from the Ecuadorian legal framework. Subsequently, the teaching-learning was diagnosed from the experience of students and teachers, and a proposal for improvement of teaching and learning was elaborated based on the needs detected. The methodology applied corresponds to a non-experimental study of transectional type within an exploratory and descriptive level, using inductive, deductive, analytical and synthetic methods. Techniques such as interview, survey and documentary analysis were applied to collect important data for the study. The results show that the regulations established by the Ecuadorian State in conjunction with the Higher Education Council (CES) regarding COVID-19 allowed the teaching-learning developed in the distance-virtual modality in HEIs to respond in a similar way to face-to-face teaching. The experiences provided by teachers and graduate students at ESPAM MFL agree that there are several aspects that should be improved for virtual courses to be profitable in terms of achieving competencies and objectives. Therefore, the proposal for the improvement of teaching and learning will provide many benefits in the educational field, since it will promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the academic management of virtual courses in the graduate area.
