| Sumario: | This researchwas conducted at theWaxTaquilneighborhoodparish,LojaCanton, which has a temperate-humid equatorial climate.With anaverage air temperatureof16°C.Was decided to performa market studyto determine thesupply and demand ofguinea pig meat, technical studiesof the project andmakethe economic and financialstudy to determinecosts and revenues. Inthe study ofguinea pig meatdemand, a sample of the consumer populationthat livesin CantonLojawas determined.We consideredonlythe urban population inLojawhich is206,834inhabitants, taking into accountthat the average familyhas fourmembers, thentook51708.5families. Itwas not determinedinthe market study, the actualdemand forguinea pig meatcomes from75% of broilersinLoja,with15.05guinea pigs/family;supplyof guinea pigsguinea pigscorresponds to342,243/year.Demandcovering theproject based onthe operating capabilityof the shedsisguinea pigs8650/year.The projectis feasible,technically and economically, the location of the company, "Mr. guinea pigs"in theneighborhoodof the parishCeraTaquilRegionLoja; constitutes astrategic area forits locationand requirements necessaryfor the production processof the project.8650annual production ofguinea pigs/year was estimatedby coveringbroilerdemandand in order toenter new marketssuch as supermarketsand othercenters of suppliesunderconditions proposed inthis projectis profitable, as it hasan NPV of$226,579.38; an Internal Rateof Return (IRR) of 68% and a benefit /costof 1.73meaning thatinvested inthis projecteconomic benefits arestillobtained.We concludethat it iswise to investin the production processof guinea pigson the farmofTaquilAmadaRosaneighborhood. |
