Sumario:Nowadays, the local and international universities within their educational objectives have the purpose to achieve meaningful learning and to meet the expectations raised on the professional profile of their graduates. The methodology used in this research work was not experimental supported by the bibliographic and documentary research. The conclusion obtained was that the current curriculum of the subject Microeconomics neither satisfies nor fulfills the students´ expectations; however, updating the curriculum of the subject Microeconomics helps to get a significant learning and meets the graduates´ expectations in their professional career profile, so it is recommended to build a new updated syllabus of this subject as well as the other subjects of the Accounting and Auditing career at the Technical University of Cotopaxi, thus improving the academic performance and meet the expectations about their graduates' professional profile.
