Sumario:This article shows a self-assessment of the processes that are developed at the Catholic University of Cuenca, extension Cañar based on the European Foundation for Quality Management Model, which treats the approach grounded in the processes as an excellence concept. In order to carry out the research, it was necessary to make a diagnosis of the processes in which the criteria from the model were applied to the analysis of data. In this exploratory study of self-diagnosis kind, data were gathered through a questionnaire and a survey. The collection of data allowed identifying the actual situation of the university. Strengths and weaknesses were recognized to establish the intervention scenario. The investigation suggests alternatives to the reveled problematic situation that go from a total quality point of view to the continuing improvement of the processes, in order to impulse the university to a successful internal processes management.
