Sumario:The present investigation had the purpose of analyzing the consequences of COVID-19, in the learning of the students of Higher Basic General Education, in the "José Joaquin Olmedo" Educational Unit, of the Cayambe canton, Pichincha Province, where great difficulties in the educational process, due to the global emergency caused by the COVID- 19 pandemic, which has forced the population to adapt to new ways of working, routines, habits and more, affecting each sector, especially education, that has been affected by various circumstances such as the lack of technology, insufficient access to internet service, ignorance of the virtual modality, both in students and teachers, which caused a setback in learning, which although it presented difficulties before the pandemic, this determined that it worsened, according to the information collected. The research had a mixed approach, with a descriptive scope, of an exploratory type, for which the survey technique applied to students and the interview applied to teachers were used, obtaining as a result that, on the one hand, the pandemic caused problems for students who did not have the necessary technological means, it also meant a great contribution to education, since it encouraged teachers and students to make use of digital resources in education and in turn prepared everyone for similar situations in which you should opt for the virtual modality, without this meaning a major problem.
