This work analyses the discursive strategies to represent social actors, as well as the Agent-Patient relationship, implemented on the front pages of two written media: Diario El Expreso from Ecuador and Revista Semana from Colombia. In methodological terms, we use the tools proposed by van Leeuwen (1996, 2008) in his Social Actor-Network model. This methodological approach, widely recognised in the academic literature, allows us to illuminate a central aspect of every political phenomenon: how the "Other" is constructed through discursive practices. We conclude that there was a clear framing in the two analysed media, showing the protester as a threat; this contributed to dehumanise the participants and justified State agents' actions.A partir del 2019 América Latina vivió una ola de intensas manifestaciones en varios países de la región. En este contexto de efervescencia social, varios organismos han denunciado casos de violaciones de derechos humanos por agentes del Estado hacia manifestantes. Este trabajo analiza las estrategias de representación de actores, así como la relación Agente - Paciente, implementadas en las portadas de dos medios escritos: Diario El Expreso de Ecuador y Revista Semana de Colombia. En términos metodológicos se utiliza las herramientas propuestas por van Leeuwen, (1996, 2008) en su modelo de Red de Actor Social. Esta aproximación metodológica, muy reconocida en la literatura académica, nos permite iluminar un aspecto central de todo fenómeno político: cómo se construye al “Otro” a través de prácticas discursivas.
