Summary:This study establishes a systematic analysis starting from the problem of the limited compliance with the Global Sustainable Tourism criteria in the registered community tourism centers in Riobamba county. In this context, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between Good Practices and Sustainable Tourism. In the view that this is a social problem by nature, the methodology used corresponds to a mixed methods research. The study used methods and techniques appropriate to the context. The research design was non-experimental, correctional, and transversal, with a population determined by a non-probalistic method. Convenience sample was used; however, because of the current pandemic circumstances of pandemic, we were able to recruit only 30 experts in the area of community tourism. A structured survey was used to collect data. The survey used a with Likert scale. The study hypothesis intended to determine the existence of a relationship between Good Practices and Sustainable Tourism. It is necessary to recommend the immediate use of programs that include the observance of indicators and criteria of sustainable tourism and the establishment of specialized working teams in this area. In addition, this phenomenon should be addressed by working tables that count with monitoring and adequate controls to the registered community centers in Riobamba county.
