| Sumario: | ABSTRACT: Health is a state of physical, mental, and social well-being, not only the absence of disease, according to the World Health Organization. Threats are phenomena of natural or anthropic origin that can negatively or catastrophically alter the natural conditions of the company, its employees, and the environment, interrupting the normal development of activities. The study seeks to identify and evaluate natural and anthropic hazards for the company PROALIM in the city of Riobamba in 2021. The following process was applied to develop this work, identification of the areas and processes of operation of the company, followed by the identification and evaluation of hazards using the following methods: NFPA, MESERI, FEMA, SOCIAL, vulnerability matrix, and hazard map. According to the hazard maps, the results show that the risk of earthquakes and floods represents a medium risk level; the threat of volcanic eruption and explosion represents a low risk. The NFPA method was used to evaluate the fuel load of all areas and sections of the company, identifying that the fuel sections, warehouse 1, warehouse 2, and the administrative area have a high-risk level; the other sections of the company have a low-risk level, as does the production area. When the fire risk was evaluated using the MESERI method, the administrative area was found to have a high-risk level and the production area a medium-risk level. Using the FEMA method, evaluating vulnerability to earthquakes determined a high vulnerability. When evaluating the safety level of boilers with the social method, the result was a deficient safety level. And when evaluated with the vulnerability matrix for institutions, the vulnerability level of the company was medium at 60 percent. In addition, this thesis prepared an emergency plan for the company PROALIM, socializing with all workers. The plan details: the manager's commitment, the protocols for action in the event of threats, the formation of brigades, maintenance procedures for emergency equipment, resource map, and evacuation. In conclusion, after the socialization of the emergency plan and according to a second evaluation with the vulnerability matrix, the company goes from 60% to 36% vulnerability. According to a survey conducted on managing significant risks, 81% of the workers rate it as positive. |
