| Sumario: | The objective of this work was to identify the personal factors that motivate the dropout of a student from his university studies. The methodology is based on a non-experimental design of a descriptive nature with a mixed approach, applying a survey and interview through a questionnaire structured by 24 open and closed questions. The results obtained showed that some factors of motivation to personal achievement would be the first element of dropout, followed by the academic, and finally the institutional factors. It is concluded that an intervention aimed at increasing the student's competencies and self-esteem should be carried out, as well as strategies (implementation of laboratories, leveling courses, support for students at academic risk) of university support, to decrease the dropout rate and strengthen the stay of the students. |
