Sumario:This research work was made with the objective of developing the mathematical logical thinking of the children of the First Year of Basic General Education of the parallel "A" of the Unidad Educativa Domingo Faustino Sarmiento del Canton Pelileo, Tungurahua province, in the year 2017-2018, with the purpose of attending the lack of methodological strategies in teaching and learning, so that activities have been developed in order to motivate the development of mathematical logical thinking in students, using cognitive games of basic notions, of sequences logical and cognitive games with rhymes. The quasi-experimental design was applied and it allowed to compare the results of before and after the application of the alternative, transversal guideline to be carry them in a period of time, an explanatory-descriptive, field-based investigation, by means of the deductive method that allowed compiling the facts about the problem and establish the possible solutions, the technique used was observation, for the collection of data was used as an instrument for collecting information observation cards; the same ones that allowed to know the lack of the application of didactic methods, and to offer the adequate, effective attention to train children able to solve daily problems of their daily life, the formula used to check the hypothesis was the chi square. Finally, it was concluded that the timely and adequate application of cognitive games helped the development of mathematical logical thinking of children, now they are prepared to solve problems of their environment in a playful context.
