Resumo:In 2019, the Government ordered an increase in the price of fuel. This generated a social reaction that did not allow the transport to carry out its tasks for a month. Subsequently, in February 2020, new strategies were implemented that tried to overcome this economic gap. Simultaneously, the country and the entire world was affected by the emergence of the COVID-19 Pandemic, which triggered a public health crisis as well as very serious economic, social and family problems. Within the pandemic context, in March 2020 the Government established a curfew and the prohibition of free movement at a national level. This obligation was extended for a period of 60 days. Then, the local and state level COES establish mobility restrictions, therefore limiting the allowance of use for public transport services. This caused this sector to become paralyzed again, further aggravating its economy. Due to the above, the Otavalo Transport Cooperative has faced a drastic reduction in demand for its service. This problem has not been able to be resolved given that the pandemic still continues. The creation of a new business model is necessary. Involving new strategies that facilitate the operator to diversify its activities and allows him to stop depending on the decisions that the government imposes on them. At the same time this allows the business partner to cease exposing his economy by supporting it with more than one activity.
