Descripción
Sumario:This article summarizes the main findings for the study on Guatemala's early childhood education public policy and its implementation. The qualitative study used a documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews with stakeholders to analyze educational policy documents, agreements, and strategies. The results show that there is progress in the design of public policies for early childhood education in the country. However, challenges persist in intersectoral policy coordination, the institutional framework of early childhood education, universal and free access, funding, initial teacher training and quality assurance systems. The study can guide decision makers in terms of early childhood policy and programs.
