Descripción
Sumario:The treatment of the independence of Cuba in the Spanish novel of the nighteenth century is the subject that we approached in this work. Few novels were written on this topic, among others, the Separatist (1895) of Eduardo López Bago. The story recreates the differences between the interests of the metropolis and those of the colony, with the evocation of several positions that struggled there. The point of view that prevails in the end is the one of the author, defender of the non separation of Cuba from the metropolis.
