Sumario:Social dynamics have changed the way we perform everyday tasks since technology is now required to accomplish almost all of them. Higher education is not exempt from this trend as current tendencies point towards the virtualization of professional training programs. Consequently, the role of the instructor has evolved; virtual learning environments are the new settings where learning occurs, necessitating a change in how pedagogical mediation is conducted. The objective of this essay is to answer the question posed in the title by drawing on the authors’ experiences and supporting it with bibliographical evidence.
