Contrast this, considering the book, "The Allegory of Heritage" by Francoise Choay, the definition of Historical Monument and the two dimensions that constitute it as such: the historical dimension and the artistic or visual dimension. This work is the result of a teaching - learning process developed in the Master on Management of Heritage for Territorial Development of the Santo Tomás University section Tunja, in the module of Foundations of Heritage wehere the "Territory and heritage, its origing and his memories".Este artículo trata sobre Socha Viejo, actualmente es un caserío que hacer parte de Socha, que es la capital de la provincia de Valderrama. El problema de estudio parte de la formación del territorio de Socha Viejo desde los asentamientos prehispánicos, la fundación hispánica, hata el caserío en el que hoy se convirtió este municipio debido al deslizamiento de tierra y desinterés, que amenaza su desarparición constantemente. Contrastado esto, a la luz del libro "La Alegoría del Patrimonio" de Francoise Choay la definición de Monumento Histórico y las dos dimensiones que lo constituyen como tal: la dimensin histórica y la dimensión artística o visual. Este trabajo es resultado de un proceso de enseñanza - aprendizaje desarrollado en la Maestría de Gestión del Patrimonio para el Desarrollo Territorial de la Universidad Santo Tomás secciona!
