| Sumario: | It is evident the lack of motivation that students of the ENS Rafael María Giraldo educational institution in the municipality of Marinilla show when studying genetics in the field of natural sciences. Such attitude is related to the difficulty they encounter in understanding the concepts of this important branch of knowledge. In order to face this situation, it is essential to improve teaching methods, moving away from the classical pedagogy centered in the teacher. For this reason, this work proposal “Didactic strategy focused on communicative competences for the teaching of genetics through virtual tools” emerged as an alternative pedagogical space to stimulate learning of this subject in a simple and pleasant way, linking virtual instruments for students to appropriate the language of science. In this experience, each of the intervention activities were proposed with the intention that students improve their communicative skills focused on the concepts of genetics, structure and mechanisms that are related to DNA, cloning and transgenesis. Classroom activities were deployed using the Moodle platform as well as web applications like Kahoot and Canva, seeking to promote both individual work and collaborative work together with the development of communication skills. The results were significant. The students showed an optimistic attitude towards the subject of genetics, improved their analytical skills, and actively participated in the classes that show their performance in the use of communication skills to account for the subject |
