| Sumario: | The urban green spaces have been linked to the welfare of persons. Nevertheless, there is reduced data of how the characteristics of green spaces provide real benefits to people. Therefore, the object of the investigation here proposed was to explore the characteristics of urban green spaces, their equipment, and determine their relationship with the well-being perceived by users. For this purpose, a sample of 179 subjects, from 38 parks in Barranquilla, was selected. These subjects responded to a structured survey to determine their perception of issues related to using, spatial distribution, infrastructure, nature, health, quality of life, social relationships of cooperation, and trust. The results presented that there is a significant relationship between the usage patterns of visitors and the characteristics of urban parks, such as walking trails, lighting, graffiti, bio-healthy equipment, children's games, tree-covered security posts, the height of trees, green spaces, sound atmosphere, wildlife, the naturalness of the park, proliferation of fauna and flora, physical health, level of physical activity, cardio and sedentary lifestyle. Specifically, the variables: environment, infrastructure, and usage are related positively to the welfare of the users. All of this implies the perception of the park affects its use and provides different attributes in users' welfare. |
