Descripción
Sumario:In this paper we present a study of an response-adaptive design study described in terms of a two-color ball urn model. Through simulations, possible advantages of this design were explored by modifying the values of the initialization parameters. An exploratory analysis of the number of patients assigned to the lower treatment by the design was made and the power of the hypothesis test carried out to compare the two treatments considered was explored. It was found that within the initialization parameters considered those that presented the lowest values of the calculated statistics were = 0:9 and = 0:9. As for the power of the hypothesis test, it was found that they were practically the same (values very close together) for each one of the choices of and considered, under the same diference of the means and the same sample size.
