Sumario:This document will describe the application of several techniques retrieved from the literature in order to achieve an improvement in the picking area of Coca Cola European Partners in Gent, Belgium. First, the author will define several general concepts such as Warehouse, Warehouse Flow and Picking Area. The author will also explain how Coca Cola European Partners currently organizes the operation of supply chains. Later, is presented an audit of the 7 principles of supply chain that evaluates how well the company performs. The audit also suggests improvements where they are necessary. After that, the author applies Lean Thinking techniques in the picking area to provide the first recommendations to minimize waste in the operation. Finally, different techniques to reduce the total travelling distance in the picking area will be presented with their respective application in this company, in order to finish with a proposal layout with economic benefits
