Sumario:The present research, of cross-sectional design, sought to determine the relationship between: emotional regulation, profiles of temporal orientation, and dispositional mindfulness, in a sample of 320 teenage students in Talcahuano secondary school. The Zimbardo Temporary Profile Scale (ZTPI), Emotional Regulation Difficulty Scale (DERS-E), and the 5-Facet Mindfulness Inventory (FFMQ) were applied. The results indicate that there is a relationship between the difficulties of emotional regulation in adolescents, their temporal profiles and their willingness to mindfulness: Adolescents with a balanced temporal profile have less difficulties in emotional regulation and higher levels of dispositional mindfulness compared to those temporary or negative risk profile. The mediation analysis shows a direct effect of the balanced temporal profile, mediated by dispositional mindfulness, on the emotional regulation capacity of adolescents. The implications of these findings are analyzed, especially their relevance in the orientation of preventive mental health programs. Keywords: Adolescence, emotional regulation, temporal orientation, dispositional mindfulness
