Resumo:Here the interaction between scientific knowledge and the body is analysed. In this case, masculinity and its molecular production through phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors is studied. Sildenafil (Viagra) is one of these molecules created by pharmaceutical companies to treat erectile dysfunction. The use of these molecules is understood in The Pharmacopornographic Era notion stablished by Preciado (2013) while using testosterone. In this historical moment bodies and technology has become indivisible. In this era is impossible to conceive body outside technology, regimes, and external architectures due to they has been naturalized by the mean of embodiment. Pharmacology and physiological processes are explained to analyse material effects and the embodiment of these erectile substances. The translation of Viagra into other molecules is brought to problematize the reinforcement of masculinity. In this study hegemonic masculinity is understood as a process under continue production, modification and validation. In addition, here it is considered that hegemonic masculinity has been continually present during colonialism being part of its constitution. In this study the construction of a hyper body machine is proposed as an effect of the use of Viagra in this era. The endurance of this body is assisted by the technological artefact Viagra. Here is proposed that the emergence of this body is contingent to the production of scientific knowledge and the masculinity in crisis process.
