Sumario:The aim of this research is to account for the affective underpinnings of entrepreneurial discourse in the context of policy-making at the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (CORFO). Through a post-foundational discourse analysis of interviews on a sample of CEOs, I was able to shed light over the structural incompleteness of the discourse on State-backed entrepreneurship and the mechanisms through which this is concealed. Furthermore, I used the concept of affect to account for the unconscious ‘grip’ that subjects develop in relation to an entrepreneurial discourse of this sort. I analyzed this in terms of the process through which the libidinal investment of some elements results in the generation of strong and lasting attachments.
