Resumo:Introduction: The cancer is among the leading causes of death worldwide and its treatments commonly promote undesirable side effects, such as chemotherapy, a form of cancer treatment that may bring several side effects such as fatigue, muscle weakness, cardiorespiratory and muscular resistancereduced. Objective: The objective of this article is to verify and analyze the effects of exercise in people with cancer during chemotherapy. Literature review: Cancer is defined as an uncontrolled and abnormal growth of cells in the body. One of the treatments for cancer is chemotherapy, which is a form of systemic cancer treatment that uses anticancer drugs, causing side effects in some patients, and one way to minimize these is the practice of physical strength and aerobic exercises. The studies analyzed showed that both strength training as aerobic brought some positive effect, whether physiological, functional, psychological and/or body composition in individuals with cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Conclusion: So, it is concluded that cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy may undergo a program of physical exercise cautiously guided and accompanied by a professional who has knowledge of the subject.
