Sumario:This article proposes the intertwining of solitude as poetic-matter, above all by the understanding of this human existential feeling/mode, through aesthetic efficacy in the poetic diction of Elizabeth Bishop (1911-1979). Thereby, it is believed that as a result of its artistic expression the momentary isolation potentiates the human condition, precisely, by giving back the existence and the becoming. In fact, between approximations and supposed social distancing. There is the best understanding of the totality of the world that, in constant transformations, enhances the (re) construction of intersubjectivities. Thus, we propose contextual and contemporaneous readings of the primordial bishopian lyric mediated by the theoretical-methodological contribution of PAZ (2014, 2015), BOSI (1990), BRASILEIRO (2012), ABBAGNANO (2007) and FREUD (2016) to make analyzes about the solitude as a poetic-element, in order to evidence reflections on the theme through the poems Insomnia, Five Flights Up and Quai d’Orleans. Because of the believe that momentary isolation has the capacity to enhance artistic expression, this expression has the power to tune the subject with itself. Therefore, this isolation originates in the gap existing in the forms of communication of these historical subjects with the world. In addition, this integration offers us unique opportunities for dialogue and self-knowledge to what appears to be insular - but that it essentially wants to communicate.
