| Summary: | One of the marks of the COVID-19 pandemic is medical education, insofar as healthcare professionals have been called upon to act in a situation of unimaginable unpredictability. This study analyzed how the pandemic has affected medical education from the perspective of professionals working in this field. We conducted a qualitative exploratory study using data collected during online conversation circles held via Google Meet in 2020 based on semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed in two categories: challenges for pedagogical practice and medical training and the multidimensionality of management. The investigation points to the need to rethink education plans, focusing on the gaps revealed by the pandemic. The findings reinforce the importance of the intersection between theory and practice not addressed by the exclusive use of technologies and of engaging actors from the course in a collective action that is sensitive to the unpredictability of life and the reality of public health in Brazil. |
