Descripción
Sumario:The study aims to explore the perception of e-sports athletes and psychologists regarding the role of Psychology in this context. Five athletes and five psychologists responded to electronic questionnaires. The responses were analyzed using the IRaMuTeQ software, forming a corpus of 10 texts, with 72 text segments (TS), 54 of which were used (75%). A total of 2,542 occurrences were identified, with 850 distinct words and 540 appearing only once. The most frequently evoked words in the word cloud were: "psychologist" (f = 21), "work" (f = 19), and "team" (f = 16). The similarity analysis highlighted "psychologist", "work", and "professional." The Descending Hierarchical Classification categorized the content into six classes: "Intersections between personal and professional life in sports," "Self-esteem and its impacts on the team," "Psychologist's role in e-sports," "Professional qualification," "Focus of psychological interventions," and "Importance of psychological work." It was concluded that the psychologist's work is inseparable from group interventions, individual interventions are highly relevant, personal life impacts performance, excessive self-esteem can have adverse effects, the psychologist plays a key role with the technical team, there is a lack of specialized professional training, and the psychologist's work has a positive impact.
